Fiona Giles

Fiona Giles, PHD is a Certified Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association, a Hakomi-trained psychotherapist and a former Crisis Supporter and Mentor at Lifeline Australia.

Prior to her role as a therapist, Fiona was a senior lecturer at the University of Sydney. She has published widely as an academic and journalist, including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian and HQ, and has worked extensively as an editor and public speaker. Her academic research has focused on the wisdom of the body in relation to gender; and her journalism research includes exploration of the role of memory in self-understanding. Working as a psychotherapist has been her lifelong goal, and her experience as a parent, teacher, mentor and crisis supporter has assisted in bringing this to fruition.
